Darwin Yarborough has over 40 years of experience in the financial planning industry. In September 1978, Darwin started with Waddell & Reed as a registered representative. In 1983, Darwin became a Waddell & Reed District Manager, where he remained until 1986 when he became a Division Manager. In 2006, Darwin retired from management and returned as a Financial Advisor. Currently he mentors and assists numerous clients, advisors, businesses and church groups on financial issues and developments. Over his tenure, Darwin has obtained several licenses in the field of financial services.
For nearly 13 years, Darwin broadcasted every Monday on V-103/102.7 FM, providing information about financial services to the public. He has also been a guest on local Chicago television stations where he shared his financial acumen. Darwin currently conducts Seminars/Workshops on Financial Planning from the prospective of Financial Universal Principles.
Darwin is very active within New Faith International Baptist Church, his home of worship for more than 25 years, where he has served on the finance ministry and the Men’s ministry. Darwin also teaches Bible study classes and New Member Classes on Financial Stewardship. He is known for saying and living the phrase, "I believe that it is God's will for all of us to be debt free!"
Darwin has participated in the Chicago Board of Education Readers are Leaders Program, reading to groups of youth in Chicago Public School Classes each month for 3 years.
Darwin graduated from Englewood High School in Chicago, Illinois and Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, playing football at both schools. He is a member of Morgan State University Alumni and serves on the Englewood High School Alumni Committee.
Darwin is devoted father to five (5) sons and grandfather to ten (10) grandchildren. In his spare time, Darwin enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys leading an active lifestyle and either walks or runs every day. He ran in the Chicago marathon from 2010 to 2016.
