DeBorah Gant has over 30 years of experience in the financial planning industry, 18 of which have been management with Waddell & Reed in Illinois. During her tenure, DeBorah has also served as a trainer to develop the future pipeline of Waddell & Reed advisors. DeBorah holds multiple securities and insurance licenses in various states, including Illinois, Texas, and Indiana, Florida, and Georgia.
Her passion is helping clients develop and pursue their financial goals. She takes joy in seeing clients from all socioeconomic backgrounds work to become financially independent and debt free through everyday life changing events. She currently assists clients with retirement planning and maintenance, business strategies, financial and education planning along with risk management.
In 2007, DeBorah was appointed Managing Principal which is the first time an African American Female was named to manage a division office with Waddell & Reed. DeBorah was chosen by Waddell & Reed leadership to be one of their ambassadors in meetings with Congress in Washington DC regarding Social Security Reform. DeBorah is a frequent guest speaker for organizations including sororities, businesses, and churches along with TV and radio appearances. She has also been featured in newsprint for community projects were she was involved. As a member of the University of Illinois Extension Programs Advisory Board, she helped sponsor Vanderpoel Elementary Magnet School’s “Readers Are Leaders” program for basic financial understanding.
Along with the help of her team of financial service professionals, DeBorah strives to offer her clients impeccable customer service using the most up-to-date financial tools to allow her clients to pursue their personal and financial goals.
DeBorah attributes her success in life to GOD and his loving spirit of grace, an awesome family and team (4 children and 4 grandchildren & her life partner), and a constant desire to learn, grow, help, and give back to others. In her spare time, DeBorah loves to read, travel, shop and watch movies.
